One More Day
Well, only one more day to get through in terms of the work week and then I get to enjoy both a day off and some fun tomorrow night. Work yesterday was simply not the best for me. On two different occasions I had to go re-stack my pick (the product that I was assigned to select) because I had stacked a few boxes on their respective sides, and they had in turn broken down causing the whole entire thing to lean and almost fall over. Now, you're probably think why did you put it on the skid on its side you dump? Let me tell ya. I believe it was this past Sunday when I was working that a friend (someone who I had gone to high school with and played football with) came up behind me in the aisle I was working in and told me that stacking them on their sides would make my life easier. Looking for anything to help things go faster and my job easier, I did not question him and went on and have been doing so ever since. It made sense.
That was until yesterday when the boxes failed me and I got scolded for doing it because there was runaway product everywhere. After the second incident, the guy putting all the skids on the trucks asked me if another worker had told me to do that. I said yes, and he said he didn't know why the guys who had been working there longer than us new guys decided to tell us to stack them that way. Then he proceeded to tell me not to listen to them anymore. So I'm not going to. It was comforting that he was nice about it too, because like I said I was not having that good of a day and was really frustrated at both myself and the situation.
All else aside, I didn't leave the distribution center until about 11 pm last night, and I'm still tired from work this morning. Like I said though, only one more day of it today and then I at least get tomorrow off to go enjoy a wedding with a friend. I'm really hoping to get Sunday off as well, but I'm not going to be surprised if I don't. The schedule for next week will be posted today, so we'll see if I'm lucky.
Also, made my first bid on an eBay product this morning. I've never done it before, and it was rather exciting but I fear that it quickly is going to become very very addicting. Which is bad, because of how I need to conserve my money for the future aka college.
Oh, well. Go America.
