When Hell Freezes Over

I spent the majority of my day finishing up orientation for my new job at Meijer Distribution Center. It was and is going to be without a doubt an experience, seeing as how I learned today how to drive/operate a forklift and two other pieces of equipment. In starting my job tomorrow, I've come to the realization about some thing regarding it:
1. It's going to be cold as balls.
2. It's going to be very physical and tough on my body.
3. It's going to suck some major ass.
I need the money though, in the worst way. Paying for college is not easy, as many of you know I'm sure so getting as much as I can right now is all I can really ask for. I am getting paid a very good hourly wage, but something tells me that it is not going to seem like enough no matter what I end up doing at work tomorrow or in the future.

I'm not really sure what all to expect, because they did not really tell us today where we would be working in our respective buildings and what exactly we would be moving. But knowing that I am going to be in building #801 I know it is going to be anywhere from 35-55 degrees and I'm not going to be very good at first. What I mean by that is, I'm not going to be good at moving things and stacking them in the most efficient way possible simply because I've never done it before. I feel as if the people who are there working with me are going to get frustrated with my molasses style of work, but at the same time I hope they can understand that they before were once like me.

I spent my last night of freedom tonight before I begin my 2nd shift life (2pm-10pm-ish) by assisting with serving a dinner for Erma Hagen at my church. She is the parish secretary who is retiring at the end of the month and who has always cooked for the youth retreats and just been there for anyone who needs it. She's awesome, so it felt only right that I was there for the dinner dedicated to her. I then watched a bit of the Reds game (they lost 4-3 on a walk-off homer) and then went and got sno shack with one of my good friends from high school who I had not seen in a while. She is a few years older than I am, but it was great catching up with her, as always.

That's pretty much my day. And all that I really have to say. Goodnight.

Hell Freezes Over tomorrow for me.
