Gummi Bears
So, my sister is home as you know, and being typical Carmen she has had her cravings regarding sweets. And of course, she is not afraid to voice them.
It was late yesterday afternoon/evening when my mother and I were going through my closet cleaning out old shirts and what not when she came into my room and sat on my bed just to make her presence known. It didn't take her long to find an old (and I mean old) box of unopened Nerds candy. Quickly springing into action she snatched them up and asked me if she could have them. I said sure, noting the fact that she had mentioned to me numerous times how all she wanted was gummi bears or some sort of sweet candies.
My dear sweet mother, the amazing woman that she is, brought home some gummi bears tonight for her daughter. She alerted me to this right away, but I did not get the text message until about an hour after she sent it to me as I was indisposed at that moment. I had stopped by my best friends house for dinner after a run and had left my cell in my truck. I got a laugh out of the text that was sent as it simply stated: Dude. Mom bought gummi bears. Thanks. I feel as if it was because the statement that I made when she was in my room on Sunday that made my mom be thoughtful and buy them for her. It's nice to be loved so much by your mom. Boy am I lucky.
The Reds started their series with the Tampa Bay Rays tonight in big fashion, getting a shutout victory for starting pitcher Mike Leake. The 5-0 win gets them to two games above .500 and I really really really really REALLY want them to get it going. REALLY.
I know this was a bit of a weak post, but I'm tired and I have a video game waiting on me to play. Plus time is short for the game I'm going about to start playing (NCAA Football 2010). The 2012 edition of the game is coming out in two weeks. You could say I'm excited.
