Kashi Kashi Kashi

I cannot believe that I am even going to write anything about a subject such as this, but it's really going to happen.

If you have never had a bowl of Kashi cereal, I certainly recommend it. It is unbelievably healthy for you, and it tastes too good if you get the right amount of milk.

I've gotta give a shoutout to my beloved roommate James Balata, as he is the one who is responsible for getting me helplessly hooked on the phenomenon that is Kashi. When I first met the guy, all he did was talk about the damn stuff and how healthy it is for you and how it is "so good." When he first started eating it in our dorm room-which felt like for every meal and/or snack-i honestly thought it was tree bark. It sure looked like it, all different shades of brown resembling it. He consistently said he was the best thing in the world, and yet again and again I wouldn't try the stuff for fear of pooping out layers of a stump or something.

At long last, I finally gave in a tried a bowl. It was alright, nothing too special. Just didn't really taste like anything.

Then came the Go Lean Crunch. No we're talkin'. I've always been a huge fan of granola, no matter if it is little bits and pieces of it that you can put on your cereal, or just your typical granola bar, but this stuff was something totally different. It was all granola. All the time.

As I dumped milk on my second bowl (much to James chagrin as he saw his box of cereal quickly evaporate) I couldn't help but eat it as quickly as possible. Then I was hooked. It was from that moment forth that whenever James or I was having some Kashi, we gave a Kashi call. Kashi Kashi Kashi.

Walking out of my last final this past Thursday at about 3:30, I realized that I had some money left on my student ID that I needed to spend because it would not pass over into next year. The only sensible thing I could think to spend it on was some Kashi. I mean, it only made sense.

I went to CVS, purchased 3 boxes of it (2 for me, one for James just for old times sake) and a gallon of Arnold Palmer (the drink-half lemonade half iced tea, not the man) and I was satisfied. The final funds I had well spent, for sure.

Now, the other part about Kashi that is quite magnificent is how good it makes you feel. I didn't believe this either, but James had told me numerous times how it keeps you full for a long time and regulates those beloved BMs. And people, he's right. I honestly just feel better all the time now and haven't pooped this comfortably for a long time. Things just come out smoother and for me they are more regulated.

So this blog post is for you James, I miss you back here in the 937 and can't quite get used to not waking up in the bunk above you. You're the best, for many reasons, and I especially appreciate you getting me hooked on Kashi. I really hope you are enjoying working for the city and find some time to come visit me.

**Disclaimer-I still love every cereal. This post is not to deny that notion, and am about to go have a bowl of fruit loops right now as I watch the Reds and maybe game a little bit. Kashi is just something I can add to my arsenal of cereals for the rest of my life.

Oh and by the way, I'm getting a little annoyed with ESPN. Yes, I'm glad that the Mavericks won the title last night especially because LeBron did not and a legit TEAM is getting the rings but come on people. I love you to death, but can we please talk about the Mavs being the better team and not how the Heat blew it? Dallas deserves some credit, for the simple fact that they made shots all series and played great defense. Everyone keeps talking about LeBron's legacy and how it will be tarnished and all that good stuff and we all know that is going to be the case. Everyone knew that after the way it all started this year if they didn't win the title they were going to be looked down upon for not getting the job done. But they still had a good season, and their Big 3 will get it done soon. They are still in their prime. So can we please talk about how the Mavs deserve it this year? And how badass Dirk is? Thank you.
