Ohio. It's May 16th.

The first thought that went through my mind as I was starting my day with some Lucky Charms and Sportscenter was why does Ohio weather suck so much? Like seriously. It's May 16th. I walked to my first class at 1030 with a jacket and jeans on and needed an umbrella. Needless to say I'm sick of this crap.

I know a few days ago I was hyped-maybe a little too hyped that the weather was actually nice and that I got to go enjoy Oval Beach-and this is Mother Nature bringing me back down from Cloud Nine. But come on man. It's the middle of May for goodness sakes!

I've always been firmly against the idea of global warming. I'm not saying it doesn't exist but I guess just holding on to the slim hope that the weather we have experienced in recent years is a result of some natural cycle the Earth goes through. The longer and longer I live though the more it is becoming a realization. I mean, it honestly feels like that we only have three seasons to enjoy. Hot, humid summers, brutally cold and snowy winters, and enjoyable falls. I love fall (not nearly as much as my mother does) but I'd still like to say that summer is my favorite season for the fact that school is out and there is always lots of fun activities to enjoy.

Summer lately has just been gross though, because of the humidity and constant roasting sun. Maybe it's just because I live and have lived in Ohio my whole entire life and that's just how it goes. Maybe it's global warming. Maybe it's something else. I have no idea, I'm not Jamie Simpson.

The reality of it all is that I'm sick of having to wear pants to class (and in general) and just want a few weeks-ish of lovely weather. I'll start praying for that in addition to the other things I pray for. And hey, I just looked at the weather. Only a 20% chance of rain on Thursday. Yippee.

In other news, how bout them Redlegs? Cincy used a 7 run 6th inning to take the lead over the Chicago Cubs after spotting them four runs prior to the 6th. I must say, it was a whole lot of fun enjoying that in my room and cheering loud enough that my neighbors told me to pipe down. I really hope they keep it up, and maybe my boy Jonny Gomes is going to bust out of his slump with his two-run bomb tonight.

Oh, and many thanks to the fellas on my floor who played intramural hockey and provided my entertainment post-Reds tonight. I loved every minute of it and wouldn't you know? I got some free Oatmeal Creme Pies out of it. Undoubtedly my favorite Little Debbie snack item, they completed the day.

Proud Buckeye who's sick of the weather,

Eric Seger
