NFL Draft Day 1
I have never been much of an NFL draft goer, lover, or guru by any means but since the darn thing has been ESPN's life for over three weeks now and this is a sports blog I figured I should write something about it. Kicking off at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, the draft's first round was completed this evening. I really only cared about one pick, with that being Green Bay's at 28, but it was at least a little intriguing to see where the big name players were going and which teams were willing to make trades in order to move up. The Packers got defensive with their first pick (thank God) and drafted DE Nick Perry from the University of Southern California. Even though I wanted them to pick up Courtney Upshaw from Alabama, I still am content with this pick because if you followed anything from the NFL last year the one thing Green Bay needs is defensive help.
