Three. Day. Weekend

I know that a lot of people may get a little annoyed with the words that I am planning on saying in this post in how I am going to describe my feelings about having a three day weekend (most likely the older folk-if there are any who actually read this-who do not get the three day weekend) but I really do not care. So in the words of Bo Ryan, "Deal with it."

A lot of people do not understand the magnitude of a three day weekend. I try to take each and every one of them with open arms because I know that I really only have about two or three more years of the enjoyment that comes along with them. I think that this upcoming three day weekend is special because of everything leading up to it. Last weekend I spent the majority of my time in the RPAC due to my club team holding its 6th annual hoops challenge. It was a solid event, with 35 total teams playing. The teams ranged from New York to Missouri and we made a nice little profit off it as well. The only thing I had against it was the fact that I was not able to attend the home football game against Indiana. Granted, it was Indiana but we only won by two touchdowns and having already paid for the ticket it was a tad frustrating. No worries though, the success of the tournament made it worthwhile to miss a game. Almost.

This school week was pretty extensive in itself as well. I know I should not be complaining because my roommates had midterms themselves that were more difficult than the Spanish one I had on Wednesday morning. Whenever they talk about how their school week sucked, I counter with the fact that I had two road basketball games this week as well as practice late Monday night. One game was in Richmond, Indiana against Ivy Tech (a six point victory) and then last night in Cincinnati against the Cincinnati State Surge. Now, I'm not going to relay to you the final score of that contest because I am embarrassed over it, but let's just say that they are a top five Junior College Basketball team in the Nation year in and year out. I hate going down there to play because I know that we are not going to win, and the drive is absolutely terrible due to traffic and it simply being about one hundred miles away. It's more annoying than anything for the simple fact that they are a bunch of thugs from the hood who do not realize that they are playing a CLUB basketball team and take every opportunity to rub it in our faces. As does their coach. I mean, when you have a 30+ point advantage in the second half you would think that they would "call off the dogs" and take off the press. But no. They continued to get after us so they could run it up. Now I know that we should have manned up a little bit and not had so many turnovers or given up so many offensive rebounds but come on. We can only do so much. And hey, I'm not bitter.

So aside from that and just simply having a bunch of school work to do this week, I'd say the three day weekend is much needed. I will be going to Dayton's Welcome Stadium tomorrow eve to watch my cousin play in the second round of the playoffs and visiting friends at the University afterwards. It'll be good to see Mom and Pop as well as other members of the family.

Plus I just returned from picking up my basketball tickets for the season. I must say that it feels pretty damn good to have that Duke ticket in my hand. The game is going to be unreal. And I can't wait. GO BUCKEYES.

That's it for now, I've got myself a hot date tonight and then will spend the rest of the evening doing some solid R&R.

Keep it real, Go Bucks, and God Bless America.

P.S. I did not mention Joe Paterno in this post for a reason. I will explain in my next post. Patience. Thank you!
