Pants Party?

So, as this school week slowly progresses (come on Friday afternoon) I cannot help but find myself wondering what it's going to be like in a few years when I graduate and move on from Ohio State. As much as I may complain with how busy I "always" am with classes, Mount activities and events, and club basketball conditioning/practices as well as the duties that come along with being the Vice President of a student organization it really does not compare to life ahead. What I mean by that is that there really is no reason in the world that I (or any of us college kids) should whine and fuss with our life while we are in college. We're in college for goodness sakes. It's the best time of you life. And if you say high school is/was the best time of you life, well, I have no words for you.

You may wonder why I am so anxious for Friday to come, and that is because on that afternoon I will be embarking on a trip that I have never done before. That is to Lincoln, Nebraska to watch the Buckeyes play them Saturday night. The drive will naturally will suck, because as soon as we get out of any metropolitan region all we are going to see is corn fields for miles. And miles. And miles. As an avid fan, I am ok with that because I am always one for doing something I've never done before (as long as it is in my right judgement of course) and simply because I think driving out there is going to be fun. I'm going with my best friend in the world, in his Dad's car (#swag), I'll be sitting with a lot of people that I know, and I am going to get to see a night game-the best. There will be ample bro time on the road and because the game is the first Nebraska is hosting as a member of the Big Ten (Twelve?) Conference there will be a certain buzz in the air.

I am very interested in how a number of things are going to happen both on our way there and when we finally make it to Lincoln. For starters, I really am curious to see how much corn we actually are going to drive through. Everyone that I have talked to and everything that I have at my disposal in my brain regarding the Midwest it sounds like there will be mad amounts of corn. I just want to see it for myself. The second thing about the trip that I am looking forward to is to see another college campus. I love going to visit various places, but there is something about other college campuses that just make me giddy. Now that I have been on one for a little over a year-and the biggest in the country at that-I love being able to compare both the city of Columbus and our campus to other various places. I've heard Lincoln is a pretty little city, and being the capital of Nebraska it as some definite significance. In addition to that, I have also heard that the inhabitants of state are among the most friendly you'll find, and being that they are from the Midwest I can understand that. Of course I say that because I am comparing to the impatient and snoody East Coasters, so it should be fun. Which leads me to my next point of interest. Not only do I want to talk to some Nebraskans to get a sense of their way of life, I am eager to know what kind of fans they will be. As difficult as it may be to come to terms with that Ohio State is down and the game may get a little ugly because our poor offense, I cannot wait to see if they are going to be jerks about it. Will they be gracious no matter the outcome of the contest or will they rub it in our face if they win or be sore losers if they lose? All this really intrigues me, and I am looking forward to it.

Aside from mi examen de espanol that I had this morning, today was quite a glorious day. The weather took a turn for the better, and because I busted my tail yesterday and got all my assignments that were due today finished so I had some Eric Time today. Got a good workout in and took a trek down south to Kennedy Commons with a few of my roommates to enjoy the wide range of eatery that is at the newest on-campus dining location. All this after utilizing the latest addition to our kitchen-the George Foreman grill. My roommates and I made mad cheeseburgers for lunch to go along with mac-n-cheese and an assortment of other goodies. Kudos to my oldest sister Kim for letting us use the grill-it's going to come in handy throughout the year.

On our way back from dinner both my roommate from last year and one from this year were discussing weird random possibly funny things that we could do while on campus. This came from us quoting this clip from Anchorman. So, as you may have already figured out (and if you don't have any idea spend the 36 seconds watching the clip so you do) that we are strongly-and I mean strongly-considering getting a video camera, making legit invitations (complete with photos) and going around and asking people on campus if they would like to come to the pants party. Now, it isn't going to be anything vulgar like Brick Tamlin in Anchorman, and by that I mean that we aren't going to be insinuating anything sexual. But we just want to see what people's reactions will be and whether people will know what we are talking about. I will keep you posted regarding the continuance of this process.

That's all I've got, and after watching another delightful episode of Tosh.0 I'm going to play a little NCAA and then head to bed. Rumors about a possible 70ish degree day tomorrow (gasp!) so I am a little giddy.

P.S. Aaron Rodgers may be the best quarterback in the NFL. And I'm not just saying that because Tom Brady went to Michigan, Peyton Manning isn't playing this year, or that Rodgers plays for my team. Six touchdowns last week. 'Nuff said.
